I am a Chemistry PhD and a certified teacher in BC. In the past 10 years, I tutored mostly in Math for high school students. I also tutored high school chemistry, 100- and 200-level of chemistry and prepared students for grade 10 Math and Science provincial exams. Depending on grades and location, the rate starts at $40/hour for high-school subjects and $60/hour for college level courses.

Can tutor all middle and secondary school chemistry, physics, and mathematics, as well as first year university calculus.

This is my 11th year tutoring math and science, and my 3rd since completing my bachelors in mathematics at McGill university. I love tutoring students, and aim to create an environment that is relaxed, fun, and focused as I believe that these are key elements for success in the study of high school and first year university science.

I also relate to younger students, or those who have an issue with older, often intimidating teachers. This connective approach leads to better trust and confidence, and ultimately, understanding.

I have over 10 years teaching experience in developing and implementing lesson plans and tests to fit individual learning style. I have a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Mathematics (UBC), a M.Sc. degree and Education studies in Science at UBC. I believe it is my role to actively involve students in the process of learning by asking questions at different levels of thinking, and helping students come to own their knowledge.

I am willing to tutor in the students home for $30.00 per hour but will tutor at a Vancouver Public Library for $25.00 per hour. Duration of sessions dependent on availability.

I am a Masters of Physical Therapy student at UBC; holding a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree (2010) from UFV. Being close in age to young students, I feel that I connect well and am able to enhance learning. I have worked with students of all ages, from early Elementary up to mature students upgrading high school courses. I prefer to work within science (specializing in Biology 11 and 12). I am well-organized, flexible with schedules, and will structure sessions to meet the students needs.
