I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and many years experience tutoring students in math. I create notes of every session, and e-mail a PDF to students at the end of each session. I take only a limited number of students to keep my schedule flexible to accommodate extracurricular activities and sports. In customized sessions with students I fill in gaps in their knowledge, break down and clarify difficult concepts, and show techniques to aid memory - all leading to improved confidence and problem solving ability, as well as better grades. My background includes degrees in chemistry & education, as well as experience in the chemical industry. I currently teach Math Precalculus 10 to 12, Chemistry 11 and 12, Physics 11 and 12. Math is a series of building blocks and finding the missing block (it may be from the previous year) is the first step to success. I also teach memorization tricks which are key to learning. As proof of my success, I am often retained by families for multiple years and many of my new students come from referrals from one family to another. Students have told me 'you should have been a teacher' and 'this is easy, why didn't the teacher explain it this way?'.

I have been a private tutor for 22 years. BEd. from UBC, BC certified Teacher; 4 yrs in Hong Kong High School; Experienced K to Grade 12 with resources to support students in their school subjects; As a full-time tutor I am completely available for my students' individualized needs. Developing good connections with students of all ages, is my strong point. I believe young people learn best when they are happy and comfortable, therefore, I approach teaching in a relaxed yet focused atmosphere.

I hold both a BSc and MA in Mathematics and am a Certified Mathematics Teacher (OCT).
